HarbourLoop, Hong Kong

HarbourLoop is a vision to transform the contours of Hong Kong's waterfront into an iconic 23 kilometer active urban pathway. A self-driven initiative by Lead8, HarbourLoop capitalises on the legacy of the city's world famous Victoria Harbour, using a vehicle-free route and series of 'hubs' to create an active and welcoming edge to the harbour.

HarbourLoop aims to create a healthier Hong Kong, by forming the city's first large-scale people-oriented infrastructure. A continuous loop designed to follow the contours of the harbour's modern coastal geography, the route uses a combination of existing and proposed promenades and the spaces between. The proposal identifies sites along the route for multiple sports, community and cultural amenities as well as cafes, covered open space, cycle storage and facilities to support the needs of the community.

HarbourLoop is accessible to over 1.7 million of the city's residents within a 10-minute walk.
