|Lower Ngau Tau Kok Estate Phases 1A & 1B|
Year of Completion : 2012
4 towers public housing for 4,238 flats, carpark and commercial shops
This is a redevelopment project of one of Hong Kong's oldest public housing neighbourhood. Many of the tenants in Ngau Tau Kok Estate has resided there for their life time. A lot of consideration was made in the design to recapture some of the past within this redevelopment, which a central courtyard with a picture gallery and artifacts museum displaying the old Ngau Tau Kok neighbourhood and lifestyle were exhibited.
The lower NTK estate is also the major link from Upper Ngau Tau Kok to public transport hub - the MTR and Bus terminus. Three elevated footbridges were constructed to connect with the covered walkway system within the development.
Two redevelopment stages including Phase 1A (two 41-storey domestic blocks, one 4-storey car port and associated external works) and Phase 1B (one 47-storey and two 48-storey domestic blocks, a Day Care Centre for the elderly).
